<image:caption>Healing and caring for ourselves is hard work. Sometimes painful, often fulfilling, occasionally tedious, it is a necessary part of being open to the experiences that life has to offer us. Therapy is one way to find support in healing from trauma, managing our health, and discovering and practicing new ways of caring for ourselves. Audre Lorde wrote, "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare." This work is important, both individually and collectively, and I am here to help you with it. I offer holistic individual, family, couples/relationship, and group therapy. Together in our work, we will use various elements of different theories depending on your needs, past work in therapy, presenting issues and current challenges. With all clients, I practice from a client-centered, trauma informed, and anti-oppression perspective. My previous professional experience includes working at the Rainbow Health Center in Olympia, with LGBT+ clients at Seattle Counseling Service, and with adolescents and their families at Seattle Children's Hospital. The modalities I use in my practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems. I have trained in the Gottman Method of couple's counseling as well as Lifespan Integration Level 1. I prioritize continuing to learn and update my understanding of the field. My educational background includes a BA in English from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Washington.</image:caption>
